Anima Mundi é uma banda de rock progressivo que já merece atenção simplesmente pelo fato de ser originária de Cuba. No entanto, o grupo merece destaque não apenas por sua localização geográfica, mas acima de tudo, pela qualidade musical que apresenta. Com The Way, a banda oferece um álbum de quatro faixas que se estende por quase sessenta minutos, cada uma executada com extremo bom gosto e habilidade.

A jornada de The Way começa com "Time to Understand", uma faixa de aproximadamente quatorze minutos e que é uma verdadeira aula de musicalidade impregnada de tendências sinfônicas. A banda exibe uma gama impressionante de sons, misturando ritmos variados e nuances emocionais com uma execução que revela músicos altamente treinados e talentosos. Dentro do rock progressivo sinfônico, a presença de teclados é fundamental, e a tecladista Virginia Peraza se destaca com linhas simplesmente soberbas. Em meio à variação musical da faixa, o ouvinte é presenteado com um belíssimo solo de guitarra na parte final, encerrando a música com maestria.

"Spring Knocks on the Door of Men" é um épico que se estende por cerca de vinte e seis minutos, e deve ser apreciado com atenção para captar cada nuance desta viagem sonora. Com um trabalho sinfônico notável, guitarra de qualidade e uma cozinha consistente, a música finaliza The Way de forma digna, com uma sensação de conclusão bem elaborada.

Anima Mundi is a progressive rock band that already deserves attention simply because it hails from Cuba. However, the group deserves recognition not just for its geographical origin but, above all, for the musical quality it presents. With The Way, the band delivers a four-track album that spans nearly sixty minutes, each track executed with extreme taste and skill.

The journey of The Way begins with "Time to Understand", a track of approximately fourteen minutes that is a true lesson in musicianship imbued with symphonic tendencies. The band showcases an impressive range of sounds, blending varied rhythms and emotional nuances with a performance that reveals highly trained and talented musicians. Within symphonic progressive rock, the presence of keyboards is crucial, and keyboardist Virginia Peraza stands out with simply superb lines. Amid the track's musical variation, the listener is treated to a beautiful guitar solo in the final part, masterfully closing the song.

"Spring Knocks on the Door of Men" is an epic that spans around twenty-six minutes and should be appreciated with attention to capture every nuance of this sonic journey. The track's beginning is marked by a smooth and charming instrumental passage, initially led by keyboards and then by an excellent guitar line. As the music takes on a more ethereal atmosphere, the vocals add a new direction to it. Although the keyboards and guitar are often the main highlights, the drums and bass also perform their roles with mastery, creating a solid and consistent foundation. An instrumental passage just before the halfway point transports the listener to a world of peace and tranquility, with a sonic explosion orchestrated by the keyboards that builds a new atmosphere and represents the most beautiful moment of the song. In "Spring Knocks on the Door of Men", complexity and depth are used masterfully, creating a musical epic that is pleasing and engaging from start to finish.

"Flying to the Sun" begins with a Mellotron that sends shivers down the spine, quickly followed by the entrance of the full band. The track features an excellent bass line and a creative symphonic foundation. The guitars, which follow a choral line from the keyboards in the middle of the piece, deserve special mention, as does the mood shift created by the keys, giving the music an almost cinematic air of tension and nervousness. This atmosphere is eventually broken, and the track returns to the groove that dominated its first half, providing a satisfying conclusion.

The album closes with "Cosmic Man", the shortest track on the record. Although it may seem repetitive at times, the second half features surprising instrumental sections that hark back to the brilliance of the album. With remarkable symphonic work, quality guitar, and a consistent rhythm section, the music brings The Way to a worthy conclusion, with a well-crafted sense of closure.

The Way is an album that can captivate the listener for a long time, offering various sensations with each new listen. The combination of refined instrumental skills and the emotional richness of the compositions make it a work of great significance in the contemporary progressive rock scene.
